Around the world via satellite connections
As the amount of telecommunication data grows, so does the need for capacity of it. We at Magister want to enhance the technical solutions for the better telecommunication connections and services. SatCom solutions play a central role for developing Europe towards a more intelligent and sustainable way of life.
We are part of a EU Horizon 2020 project called DYNASAT. The project’s goal is to develop new techniques to provide both 5G and satellite applications and services.
The project will research, develop and demonstrate the use of innovative techniques for bandwidth efficient transmission and efficient spectrum usage. The project will assess and demonstrate how those new techniques can be designed for satellite architectures and can significantly improve the performance of a satellite network infrastructure, fully integrated in the 5G ecosystem.
New solutions may be utilized to enhance the 5G ecosystem’s economic viability especially when addressing low density populated areas.
Demonstrating new 5G solutions
The DYNASAT project also has a crucial role for the 5G standardization, 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project). By developing solutions for the entire society, DYNASAT offers 3GPP valuable information about the 5G ecosystem’s possibilities.
DYNASAT’s goals may not be low, but it’s requirements to succeed are stable. Including us, 6 partners are working together to make the success possible: The University of Bologna is responsible for the project management, Martel Innovate takes care of the project communication and marketing, Thales Alenia Space France defines project’s scenarios and requirements, the University of Parma explores efficient bandwidth usage and Fairspectrum develops dynamic spectrum sharing technologies for integrated 5G terrestrial-satellite architectures.
We at Magister are in charge of creating project’s prototypes and demonstrations. The work relates significantly to our company’s strategy to develop our simulation services to serve everyone, despite the technical skills.
DYNASAT started last December and it lasts 28 months. The results will be presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in spring 2022 and 2023.
